Here at Blue Box Storage - Self-Storage we have the best interior designs this winter, and well we love the famous line, “Winter is Coming”, and it certainly is in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. With all that’s happened in the last couple of weeks due to the tragic Flooding in Bentley, Kirk Sandell, Goole, etc. We’ve been told that the bitter cold weather is approaching us this week, with the North of England falling to at least -8 degrees. So, how do you keep your house warm in these colder conditions because let’s face it, most of us would rather be snuggled up in bed than to even attempt to walk out in this!
Don’t worry, we have got you covered (literally, in a big fluffy blanket) as we spend more time indoors than outside, we have the best comforting, stylish and crucial interiors for Winter 2019. Don’t forget, if you’re struggling for space, why not consider storing your summer home accessories here at Blue Box Storage Doncaster – Self-Storage.
1.Eco-Friendly
Living a sustainable lifestyle is becoming more important in light of climate change and as such, it has become a key Interior Designs trend this festive season. However, this doesn’t mean you have to compromise on style. Items made from sustainable materials such as clay or jute and reducing the use of animal products such as leather, fur and skin, are great ways to lower your carbon footprint and create an on-trend style. Recycled home items are also increasingly in popularity and are fun approaches to achieve a unique style whilst you help the planet.
2. Botanical
Whether real or in the form of a print, plants are still a hot trend as we move into autumn. With less greenery outside in the colder months, bring some natural elements into your space with a cactus or an aloe plant. Leaf prints on wallpaper, accessories and furniture add a bold statement to your home and help create an eye-catching look. This trend is particularly relevant to urban dwellers, who may not have access to a garden but have a desire for natural surroundings.
3.Bringing back the 70’s:
The 70’s are back, but forget about the ugly brown leather fabric, it’s a new trend for Winter 2019. This festive season, the emphasis is on luxe materials and curved furnishings. Bring deep earth tones such as olive green and mustard, as well as light pink into your home to really capture a 1970s ambience. Complete the look with copper and marble accessories, as well as fringe to add opulence. Shag pile rugs are a necessary touch, as well as furniture with metallic accents to add a combination of statement textures.
4.Jewel Tones:
A perfect complement to botanical motifs, jewel tones are having their moment this season. Think dark teal, deep purple, sapphire and emerald green as colours that will provide bold accents on furniture or even painted on walls. Going all out is a must with this trend, so consider painting the backs of the doors as well as the walls to create an illusion of more space. Don’t be afraid to choose a dark colour either, as darker shades create the perfect atmosphere for a cosy winter’s evening.
5.Velvet
This was once considered an old-fashioned textile, just like the 70’s era, but it is making a comeback, adding another luxurious element to this season’s trends. Its rich texture adds an uplift to any piece of furniture. Consider buying a velvet sofa as a statement piece, or if you’re not that brave, simply purchase some velvet cushions or a lampshade. Play with different textures to highlight the soft feel of velvet which is perfect for curling up on in the cold winter.
Here at Blue Box Storage Doncaster, we know that the Christmas Period is a magical time of the year, but it can sometimes be stressful trying to find enough space for everything. If you’re looking to make your festive season nice (or naughty) this year, why not take a look at how Storage Boxes can help you solve some space-related problems over Christmas… For Example, Hiding Presents for the kids. There is nothing more worrisome than having your little (or the Husband/Wife) prying eyes peeking around the house.
