Self-Storage

Ho, ho, ho! Where does Santa store his Presents? In Elf Storage! Blue Box Self-Storage Doncaster are offering you the chance to do the same this Christmas, why clutter your home in trying to hide the kids’ presents?

We are doing our bit to help parents during the run-up to Christmas by offering free "Elf Storage" for children's Christmas presents. Parents can take advantage of the offer by storing their festive gifts away from curious offspring in one of Blue Box’s secure Self-Storage units. We meet a need for secret hiding places that are more effective than the traditional wardrobe, attic or garage. Blue Box Storage believe Elf-Storage is perfect for storing large presents such as bikes or a collection of smaller gifts.

Operations Director, Bryan Merrett has said: "We thought a Secret Santa Storage Unit would be a perfect way of introducing people to the benefits of having access to self-storage, so we have set aside a special container at our Doncaster site. Santa has come to South Yorkshire early this year" This is the spirit of Christmas and we’re open to our customers throughout the festive period.

Parents (sorry I mean Father and Mother Christmas) are entitled to one bike space or an extra-large box to fill with as many presents as they can fit in it. The box is then sealed and put away in one of Blue Box Storage’s secure storage units, ready to be picked up on or before 12pm on the 24th December 2019.

Elf Storage is available on a first-come, first-served basis. anyone can take up the offer of free storage by contacting their local Blue Self Storage branch, call 01302 593593.

Four Reasons why Self-Storage is Perfect for Christmas

In the run up to and during the Christmas and Holiday season, you may find your home becoming more and more cluttered with presents and people filling up the space. That is why Self-Storage may be a good option for you. Here are 4 reasons why you should use a Storage Box or Unit during the festive time of the year.

  1. We all enjoy a surprise. Equally we all dread the moment of trying to hide presents when our kids climb on top of the wardrobe to establish precisely what they have for Christmas. It also doesn’t help when online sites actually tell your kids all the places, you’re likely to try and hide their presents. If you rent a self-storage unit you won’t need to worry – even if they know you’ve got it, they can’t get in!
  • You might have a room in your house where you normally store your extra Christmas goods. However, if you’re like me, you’ll have been using the same space all year to store things that you’ve ‘tidied up’ or bought but only use from time to time. It would be wise to de-clutter in the build up to Christmas and use a small self-storage unit to help create some much-needed space. Once the festive season is over, you can either bring your things back to the house or keep them in the unit as part of your overall New Year clean out.
  • When the 12 days of Christmas is up, how many of us strip the tree, unclip the lights from the front of the house and stuff them in the nearest cupboard or wardrobe? How many people ruin their Christmas decorations because they don’t have a suitable storage solution? If you have a lot of decorations, a sizeable tree and other seasonal goods that aren’t going to be used, why not use a self-storage unit to keep them safe and damp free until next year?
  • Many of us play host to our families at Christmas. 2, 3 10 or maybe as many as 12 can arrive during the holiday period. Some stay for the day, others arrive on the 24th and leave three days later. However long they stay there are normally a host of bags and belongings that come with them. Whether it’s finding somewhere for them to sit or getting their things put away, your rooms become overcrowded. That problem could be solved if you declutter a week before Christmas and use a self-storage unit to create space in the short term.

From all of us at Blue Box Storage – Doncaster Self-Storage, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
