Self-Isolation Tips
“These are strange and bizarre times”, says Bryan Merrett, owner of Blue Box Storage Doncaster. “Staying in Self-Isolation can be boring, especially if you don’t have anything to keep you occupied during COVID-19.”
While you confine yourself at home, you could check your mortgage payments, consider a spring clean or even consider moving to a new home once the coronavirus has blown over in 3 months or so. However, we understand that this could be tedious. So, here at Blue Box Storage – Doncaster Self-Storage, we have put together a list on what the you and the family can do in Self-Isolation.
Clearing out the Wardrobe
Whoever you live, your partner, parents, or child could have a rammed wardrobe. You’ve asked them before about having a clear out, and the time has finally come around to finally sorting it out. Dedicate your new-found time by sorting out old clothes, ditching items you haven’t worn for years, and even co-ordinate them into sections.
This could also be a perfect opportunity to get inspired by new outfits or rediscover a new look once self-isolation comes to an end. You never know, your classic 00’s outfit from college could make another appearance, with a bit of 2020 modification.
Read a Book
With Self-Isolation, what a better excuse to sit down, relax and pick up the book you were meaning to read… from last year! Get inspired by a best-selling memoir, indulge in a chick-lit or escape to a different world for a few hours or more. Don’t forget the blanket and hot drink, it is still cold outside! If you don’t have many books, there is plenty of books available on a Kindle or other tablets of choosing from various book apps. Technology, eh!
What’s on TV?
Okay, so even the social distancing thing even applies for people who work in Film and Television, some productions have been halted by the whole coronavirus, but that doesn’t stop you from catching up on a boxset that you haven’t had the chance to watch yet.
You could go back to work after all this and discuss the final of The Walking Dead? Speaking of catching up TV Shows, did you know that we have our very own YouTube channel, you can subscribe and watch some of our latest videos and updates of what’s coming in and daily updates on Storage.
Crossword?
Maths? At home? Well while the Kids are at home this might be a good idea. Put everyone’s brain to the test and do a crossword or Sudoku puzzle and see what score you can get, it’s fun and learning. If you don’t have a Puzzle book, there is plenty of sites on the internet that you can download and print for everyone to enjoy.
Precious Memories
Staying home together is a perfect time to gather more precious memories, but maybe you also have some photos to print and put in a photo album and scrapbook. Ensure that memories like this are treasured, even backing up your phone so you don’t lose them in years to come.
Keeping your Garden Fresh
Isolating at home doesn’t mean staying indoors for however long, you can still go outside as long as you keep a good distance away from anyone so you don’t catch or pass on the coronavirus. Gardening is the perfect little pastime to take on and make sure your home looks beautiful and fresh by the time Summer comes, and sitting in the garden on a hot day, with a BBQ is an everyday thing.
Garden centres are still open, but again make sure you keep a safe distance away from anyone. Why don’t you share your Garden pics with us and we’ll put them up on the Facebook page!
Here at Blue Box Storage Doncaster we want to wish everyone a safe and happy day whenever you’re reading this. Together we can beat this, but remember to stay at home and help our brilliant Emergency Services and Key Workers.
